As women, we are so fortunate to be able to self express in so many forms. Perfume makes me feel pretty, sexy & empowered ~ I spritz it on daily, even if I don’t plan to go anywhere special or fancy. I look at perfume as the silk ribbon on the package & I love the idea of representing myself through a beautiful fragrance. Over the years, I have grown to have an appreciation for fine fragrances, especially the ones that smell rich, luxurious, & expensive.
Fortunately, I discovered the incredibly curated fragrances of Anthropologie. The best thing about their fragrances are that they are custom formulated by fragrance houses specifically for Anthropolgie. This is apparent if you have ever flirted with the selection at your local store.
Additionally, the price point couldn’t be any sweeter! ($24+) In this Blog Post, I share a couple of my Anthropologie favorites as well as some classics that I love. I particularly love how fragrance can move with you throughout the year. I tend to lean into fresh and light fragrances in the Spring & Summer and transition to warmer & deeper fragrances in the Fall & Winter.
Anatomy of a Fragrance Eau De Parfum: Wildflower Bergamot:
Described as a zesty blend of bergamot, lemon, and mango layered with cedar and sandalwood. (FLORAL) $30 Anthropologie / Great for Spring/Summer
Pharmacia Eau De Parfum: Vanilla Dore:
Described as a spicy scent of roasted almond and clove layered with vanilla and blonde woods. (SPICE) $24, Anthropologie / Great All Year Round.
My perspective on this Parfum is that it is both sweet & warm with balanced vanilla and just the right amount of warmth from the blond woods, which sort of reminds me of cedarwood or sandalwood. This is a gorgeous fragrance, and the one I find I reach for most of the time.
Chanel: Chance Eau Tendre Eau de Toilette Spray:
This beauty reveals itself to be both delicate and radiant, with an intoxicatingly light, fruity trail. An unexpected mingling of grapefruit and quince meets the crispness of fresh green notes, while a trace of Jasmine Absolute lingers in the air. Gently warmed by a sheer veil of White Musk, at once innocent and seductive. (FLORAL) $80-$140 / Best for Spring/Summer
Don’t let the description of “toilette spray” downplay this one. She is powerful & sexy and will linger on your skin and dance through the air long after you have left the room. I love layering the fragrance with Chanel Eau Tendre body lotion, cream or hydrating mist.
An intriguing incarnation of the unexpected fragrance, now takes on a sparkling freshness. The unexpected floral bursts with a lightness and zest as notes of citrus, water hyacinth and jasmine absolute are highlighted and energized with woody notes of amber of patchouli and fresh vetiver. Sexy, Sultry & Irresistibly Intoxicating. This makes me think of a strong woman who knows exactly what she wants in life. Pair with companion body lotion or cream.
I would be remiss to not mention one of my most favorite collector perfumes…… Jo Malone Vanilla & Anise. It was a very special gift from a dear friend of mine. It was discontinued, but she somehow found a little bottle for me, and gave it to me as a birthday gift. It reminds me of beauty, grace and love. Ironically, all of the things I think of when I think of my sweet friend. I highly recommend visiting a Jo Malone counter or Boutique. All of Jo Malone’s fragrances are unique, exotic & intoxicating.
Fragrance is such a personal preference. It’s an affordable luxury that every woman can use as an individual form of expression, and should. What are some of your favorite fragrances?
